Boarding
Reserve your spot today for your pet’s stay with us. We will be delighted to take care of your loved one while you are away. We ask that you provide proof of vaccinations. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Boarding is available for any length of time from daily doggy day care to extended vacation and holiday stays. Pets need to be current on their vaccinations ranging from rabies and FVRCPC (distemper) for cats to rabies, DHLPPC (distemper and parvo), bordetella (kennel cough) and influenza for dogs. Pets need to be free of external parasites (fleas, ticks, etc.) upon admission.  If not, they will be treated at the owner’s expense.

We routinely provide Hills & Biljack pet foods, but often feed specialty or other specific foods as the owner may provide. Baths are available for dogs before leaving. Other services are also available such as nail trims for both cats and dogs.

We work hard at providing a friendly, clean, fresh and disease-free environment for your pet while you’re away.

We will have a boarding form for you to fill out when you arrive for your appointment.

Dental
Dental health is just as important for pets as it is for people. A healthy, clean and fresh mouth can help minimize liver, kidney and heart disease in your pet. Red, infected gingival tissue is as painful to your pet as gum disease is for people.

With a routine dental prophylaxis, we are able to fully evaluate the health status of your pet’s mouth. Unseen problems such as cavities and cracked or fractured teeth can be identified and corrected.  Plaque and tarter buildup are removed and the teeth are polished to minimize plaque buildup in the future. Fluoride is applied after the cleaning to fortify and strengthen the enamel layer of your pet’s teeth. For your convenience, we have our dental form online to fill out before you come into the clinic.

Laboratory
Here at Buckingham-Plano Road Vet Clinic we utilize both our in-house laboratory capabilities as well as send-out reference laboratories. We regularly perform in-house internal parasite testing, cytology to identify ear, skin and intestinal infections, and analyze blood and urine to diagnose a wide range of diseases and conditions. Our blood chemistry and complete blood count (CBC) analyzer are state of the art and give us quick and accurate results.

We also utilize send-out reference laboratories for specialty testing of blood, urine and pathology samples, often getting results with same day turnaround.

Senior or Geriatric Care
Your pet’s wellness is important to us. Therefore, to uncover any conditions brought on by advancing age, we recommend routine blood work consisting of a complete blood count, blood chemistries and a urinalysis to determine if there is any early disease affecting your pet’s health.

Surgery
Buckingham-Plano Road’s veterinarians maintain the highest standards of care for all surgical procedures. Your pet’s vital signs are closely monitored by our specially trained veterinary technicians, who will remain by your pet’s side through recovery.

Wellness Exams
Wellness exams are just that, an exam before the pet is showing any signs of illness. Included is a physical exam, general blood work and urinalysis. With any of the three, we are sometimes able to identify early signs of disease and institute preventative/curative measures.

Often early heart, liver and kidney problems are detected as well as thyroid, cholesterol and glucose abnormalities. By beginning treatment early, good quality normal life is extended granting both the pet and owner more years of life together.

These exams are so very important since pets age six to eight times faster than we do, depending on their stage of life. Your pet’s health is our number one priority. We provide the best care to maintain and ensure your pet stays healthy and happy.

Online Pharmacy

We know how important your time is and for those times you are unable to come into the office to pick up your pet's prescriptions, we offer an online pharmacy. Your pet's prescriptions can be mailed to you. Please call with any questions you may have.

Online Pharmacy
